ABOUT

Rooted in a love of fashion, an appreciation of art and a passion for the planet, the Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Show fuses environmental responsibility, funky fashion and community. Started in 2010 as a rogue fundraiser by a couple of REALMS School teachers, it has turned into a Bend staple, a trash-fashion centered, sustainably-run event that everyone in the community can enjoy. Rubbish Renewed features student and adult designers with students participating from 25 Central Oregon Schools with 14 represented at the 2024 fashion show alone!

The preparation and event encourage people to look at how much waste their lifestyles produce and inspires them to change habits that decrease their impact on the planet through small doable actions.

Continually evolving for 12 events, this fundraiser features an electrifying trash fashion runway show; a live auction of a select group of garments; an eco-marketplace of locally-made, creative products; interactive sustainable booths; our competitive Business Challenge; and local food and drink. Audience quotes highlight the essence, “fashion more exciting than the Met Gala,” “My favorite event of the year,” “Unbelievable talent!” making it “the coolest event in Bend.”

What is the Business Challenge?

The Business Challenge aspect of our event is comprised of a group of up to 10 businesses who have created runway-worthy garments from their businesses unique trash.

How can I be a part of the Business Challenge group?

Business Challenge participants are accepted based on a “first come, first serve basis” based on a complete Business Challenge Sponsorship Application and fee go to the Business Challenge Submission Page to learn more.

As a Business Challenge Sponsor, what can I expect?

Your business will receive extensive promotion and exposure during the Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Show fundraising event. Your business will receive promotion in the following ways:  exposure during the event through paper and electronic displays for audience members, live emcee “mentions” during both shows, and through a friendly Coveted Trash Trophy competition.
