Brave Collective – “TUBULAR SENSATION”
Designers: Jen Riker and Mairet Linero Model: Jay Riker Materials: Packaging used for the new light bulbs and track lighting was salvaged. Shipping boxes and jute twine was used to assemble the ensemble. Sustainable Practices: Brave Collective minimizes waste as much as possible by focusing on high quality items with a long life. In the shop we use recycled paper bags and organic cotton jewelry bags and prioritize employee well-being.





Bend Anesthesiology Group – “AETERNUM” —Auction Item—
Designers: Corinne Wilkinson, RN Ellen Papciak, RN Cherie Long, MD Holly Graham, MD Jill Gambino. RN Erin Leedy Radiologic technologist Model: Holly Graham Materials: Sterile “Blue” Polypropylene (#5 plastic) wrap from OR supplies, medication tops, endotracheal tube stylets. Expired: masks, sharps, neuromonitoring leads, specimen jars. Materials dyed with: Purple marking pens, Chloroprep, Iodine, Hibiclens, Methylene Blue Sustainable Practices: As an anesthesia group, we are committed to enhancing environmental stewardship and sustainability. Our practices include recycling plastic wrap from surgical instruments, reducing our use of anesthetic gases—particularly desflurane—and initiating efforts to collect and send unused medical supplies to Ukraine. Currently, we are exploring methods to decrease the amount of blue polypropylene wrap that accumulates in landfills through repurposing and recycling.





Humm Kombucha – “TIDE TOGETHER“
Designers: Mae and Michelle Mitchell Model: Michelle Mitchell Materials: plastic wrap, old labels, cardboard, yarn, velcro. Sustainable Practices: Humm Kombucha partnered with Oregon Shines and Energy Trust of Oregon to offset their energy consumption. This year, 100% of Humm’s Taproom and 85% of the brewing facility is powered by solar and they will continue to reduce their overall energy consumption over the next 3 years. In 2022, they cut their water waste by 36% and currently Humm is engaged in initiatives to further reduce their carbon footprint.





Lonza Pharma & Biotech – “SCIENCE WEATHERS THE STORM”
Designers: Kari D’Angona, Amy Hansen, Thyia Scott, Nahi Ortiz Model: Nahi Ortiz Materials: Deconstructed garments from previous Rubbish Renewal Runway years, more old, stained lab coats, used GC copper tubing, pop can tabs. Sustainable Practices: Lonza’s Vision Zero is an initiative to continually strive to reduce their impact on natural systems and the environment, conserve energy and resources, assure safety, health and wellbeing of their employees and help to improve the quality of life in the communities in which they operate.





Jackson’s Corner – “TRASH-TIAN DIOR, KEEPER OF BEES” —Auction Item—
Designer: Allison Murphy Model: Anna Hall Materials: Carport tarp, feed bags, trampoline screen, baling twine. Sustainable Practices: FRIEND-TO-FORK — Jackson’s commitment to sustainable food systems goes beyond current trends. “Local” is a bold commitment to keeping it personal as we enjoy the bounty of Central Oregon. Guided by transparency, honesty, and a profound connection to the we food serve, and we continue to evolve alongside a community that’s making “local” a way of life. Every meal at Jackson’s Corner reflects a conscious choice to nurture our community via sustainable food systems.





Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity ReStore – “AMPED-UP EVERYDAY HERO”
Designer: DeeDee Johnson Model: Steve Stevens Materials: Old speaker wire, chandelier parts, thrift store Halloween cape, thrift store jeans, empty Yerba Mate cans, and pop tops Sustainable Practices: Sustainable shopping isn’t always about organic cotton and recycled plastic shoelaces. Sometimes it’s about discovering the perfect tile for your kitchen remodel from someone’s donated scraps. Shopping at ReStore helps support the construction of Habitat homes that are built for energy efficiency using net-zero, net-zero ready and half-net design. These affordable homes ensure families have every opportunity to thrive and grow.





The Gear Fix – “CAMP-TORIAN”
Designers: Nico Brilmyer, Kasey Boyd, Ethan Engemann Model: Avalon Disko Materials: North Face tent, climbing rope core, MSR tent Sustainable Practices: Gear Fix creates inclusive opportunities for continuous engagement with the outdoors through selling and repairing quality used outdoor gear. This decreases the cost of getting outside and helps people recreate while keeping materials out of the landfill. Highlighting companies that do their part in making quality gear that lasts, also reduces the overall environmental impact.





Oregon Adaptive Sports – “GLOVES OFF” —Auction Item—
Designers: Martha Campbell, Karen Holm Model: Molly Rogers Materials: Single lost ski gloves, popped bicycle tubes. Sustainable Practices: As an organization that creates access to high quality outdoor recreation for individuals with disabilities OAS doesn’t generate a lot of waste. OAS uses equipment that lasts for a long time. By uplifting individuals with disabilities opening access to the benefits of outdoor recreation, OAS helps create a world where more people are inspired to take care of our environment.
